Champorado Filipino's Fave Breakfast Meal



Every country has its own tradition and with that being said, food will always be on the top list. America are fond of cereals as their breakfast but here in the Philippines we kind of have a different version to that. "Champorado" is the ultimate Filipino breakfast comfort food. This sweet chocolatey dish is actually a chocolate flavored porridge that is best paired with "tuyo" or dried fish. 

Champorado is not only popular as a breakfast meal but can also be a great snack treat on a rainy afternoon. Super yummy and tasty, why not try your very own  version of chaporado? :)

Ingredients: 
  1. 8 tbsp Cocoa powder or (4pcs) tableya
  2. 3-4 cups of water
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1 cup rice/glutinous rice or "malagkit"
Pour the water in a pot and let it boil. Put in the rice and let it boil once again for a few minutes. Dilute the "tableya" or cocoa powder with your 1 cup water (warm); pour in the pot and stir slowly. After 12 minutes of cooking, add the sugar and stir until you reach the right thick consistency.

Serve in a bowl; you can pour condensed milk on top. Enjoy!
