Champorado or Tsampurado is a chocolate flavored rice porridge dish from the Philippines. It uses sweet glutinous rice (malagkit) and cocoa powder (tableya would be the exact) as main ingredient. It is traditionally breakfast fare and is especially prepared during rainy season. There are a lot of ways how to prepare and eat this kind of food. First if you love to have it in the morning, you can pair it with sweetened condensed milk. But if you prefer an umami-rich mixture of sweet and salty, top it with shreds of salty dried fish (tuyo). Either ways it is still delicious and savory to eat!
