The Banaue Rice Terraces

A National Cultural Treasure of the Philippines, the Banaue Rice Terraces were hand carved in the mountains of Ifugao. These rice terraces is over 2,000 years old, it was practically constructed to solve the growing rice problem. Itís 1500m above sea level high and since they are located in the Philippines' main island of Luzon, it takes a bit of a trek to get there.

Sunrise Viewpoint is the most popular place to look at the rice terraces and there youíll get the chance to take pictures with the local Igarot tribes.

This place is filled with so much history and the scenery is just breathtaking! The culture instilled on the Banaue Rice Terraces are just so precious. Meeting those igorot tribes will give you a different feeling of amazement of appreciating more the beauty of this wonder.
